Spine therapy
With the help of the Hock therapy, blockades in the sacroiliac joint, misalignments in the spinal column, differences in leg lengths, and twisted pelvis can be recognized and the consequent problems can be treated accordingly. Through accompanying actions (trigger point massage, cupping, flex-taping) the muscles involved can be included in the treatment.
Spine treatment according to Hock
Tensions, back pain, lumbago, and herniated discs accompany many people most their life. Painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs are not a satisfactory solution in the long run.
Twisted pelvis
as main cause of the differences in leg lengths results in a compensatory movement of the spine, leading to permanent back problems. Even a seemingly harmless fall can trigger a blockade in the sacroiliac joint (SI joint) and thus trigger a twisted pelvis. Poor posture through one-sided stress (e.g. computer work) and too little movement or lack of muscle training worsen the situation additionally.
Therapy:
- With an accurate diagnosis, blockades are being analyzed and then dynamically resolved
- Vertebrae are being brought into the right position through gentle pressure and active help of the patient (pendulum movements of arms and legs/turning the head)
- The patient has to do exercises at home, in order to stabilize the SI joint in small steps, stretch and strengthen muscles, and bring the hip bone in its right position
The Hock method, which puts the importance of the sacroiliac joint in the center, gave me important stimulus for my work. Accompanying this need is often a treatment for relaxation and ease of muscles, in order to perform and establish corrections to the spine, pelvis or SI joint easier. This is done either by using a regenerative Breuss massage and/or cupping-massage/trigger point massage – foot reflexology or taping with an elastic tape can be deployed here also, according to requirements.
Overall, accompanying factors, such as problems digesting, emotional stress, problems with the sleeping-place, scars, intolerances, etc. can play a role in recurring spinal problems and tensions.
The treatment of the spinal column according to Hock has the following indications:
- misalignment of vertebrae
- chronic and acute pain in the spine and pelvis
- differences in the length of the legs
- twisted pelvis
- SI joint blockades
- joint problems
- tensions
- acquired scoliosis
